Uncanny X-Men/Iron Man/Nova: No End In Sight

(Art by Ron Ackins, Norman Lee, Roberto Poggi, Terry Pallot, Rahmat Handoko, Craig Yeung, Livesay, Norman Lee and John Timms)

When Cyclops is kidnapped by alien bounty hunters, the young X-Men infiltrate S.W.O.R.D. to find him, forcing them into an alliance with the unsuspecting Iron Man.  Meanwhile Nova agrees to help the desperate man behind the bounty hunters.

This book starts out fairly well, with the younger and newer X-Men having to step up when Cyclops, Emma Frost and Magik are unable to take centre stage.  I enjoyed seeing how these young mutants dealt with things like deceiving a legendary Avenger and learning that many other young mutants have died in the role of X-Men.  I also enjoyed seeing Tony Stark in full show-off mode in front of what he believes to be novice S.W.O.R.D. agents.

Unfortunately Nova's role in the story has a last-minute tacked-on feel and is ultimately entirely inconsequential to how the story unfolds.  The ending also felt pretty rushed and unsatisfying, failing to pay off the interesting first half of the book.
